A Little About Purchasing

It sounds a bit obvious to say that everyone wants to get the best deal when making a purchase, large or small.  But what really is the best deal?  For the wealthy, sometimes it means getting exactly what they want, regardless of the price.  For the far less fortunate, it might mean getting the least expensive thing you can to fill the need.  For most of us, though we just want high quality at a fair price.

Purchasing Swimming Pool Liners and Safety Covers

A-Pro Services sells and installs top quality, affordable swimming pool liners  safety covers in the Oklahoma City area including  Bethany, Edmond, Moore, Mustang, Piedmont, Yukon and, occasionally state wide.  We offer the best in quality American made products and expert measurement and installation.  We have something to offer for everyone in the spectrum, and want you to be able to choose what suits you best.  At A-Pro Services,  you don't have to settle for lowered quality to meet a price point.

There is a lot to consider when purchasing a pool cover or liner.  Obviously,  there are differences in quality and design, but there may be more to it than one might think.  Just as with any other home improvement, you have to ask what it is that you want to accomplish with your new liner or safety cover.   If you really need a bargain, it shouldn't matter what color the liner is, really.  but if you are purchasing a safety cover to protect children and pets, quality matters.

Pool covers have a much bigger significance.  In addition to looking attractive, a pool cover needs to be safe.   Those that are held on by water bags, sand bags, or blocks are not.  In fact, they are worse from a safety aspect than having no cover at all.  If pets or people step out onto the cover, it will likely go in the pool, along with whatever you used to hold it down.  The victim can be enveloped in the cover and drown!

Safety covers, though, anchor securely to the deck, and are designed to hold the weight of people or pets who might walk out onto it inadvertently.  They are attractive, durable, and long lasting, as well as easier to get on and off.  Safety covers are available in a number of types and colors, with green being the overwhelming favorite.  You can even get a logo on them, nowadays.

I read an article the other day, where a dealer was saying that a pool safety cover is your first line of defense against drowning in a home pool.  WRONG!  It is your last failsafe.  When it comes to pets and children, a responsible adult is the first line of defense is a responsible adult, followed closely by a secured door and a locked gate.

With pool liners, there are a huge number of different patterns, so, aside from cost, one consideration is how the pattern matches,  complements, or creates contrast for your home and backyard environment.  Silly as this may sound, you also need to consider how and by whom the pool will be used, and the condition of the structure that you are lining.  If your pool walls or floor are in poor condition, (consider fixing them) or if you live where there are deep freeze-thaw cycles, like here in Oklahoma, or you know that it will be subject to rough play, you may want to consider a heavier liner than the standard 20 mil.  Otherwise, pick your favorite pattern and go with it, and if it doesn't already come with an upgrade to 28 mil, Paying the extra cost might well be worth it.  The better strategy would be to decide that you really like one of the patterns that have a free upgrade.  There are so many patterns out there these days, it can boggle the mind.
